Kota, Rajasthan: In a city better known across India for its education ecosystem, a different kind of learning is quietly taking place on the football field. For the past decade, Madhu Bishnoi, a sportsperson and football coach originally from Sri Ganganagar, has been working in Kota to train young footballers and encourage children especially girls to embrace the sport with confidence, discipline and determination.

Over the last ten years, Madhu has dedicated herself to grassroots football, coaching both boys and girls and helping young players understand that football is not merely a game but a powerful combination of fitness, teamwork, discipline and self-belief. According to her journey, she has helped prepare more than 25 promising football players, giving young athletes an opportunity to develop their skills and dream of competing at higher levels.

Madhu’s own connection with sport has played an important role in shaping her coaching philosophy. She places strong emphasis on physical fitness and believes that a footballer’s development goes beyond technical skills. Regular training, stamina, strength, agility and mental toughness are equally important for anyone aspiring to succeed on the field.

Building Confidence Through Football

One of the most significant aspects of Madhu’s work is her focus on girls’ participation in football. In a sporting environment where girls can sometimes face social and practical barriers, she is encouraging young players to step onto the field, train hard and compete alongside their peers.

Her efforts are part of a larger football culture that has been developing in Kota over the years. The city has witnessed the growth of women’s football, with several players going on to represent Rajasthan and compete at national and international levels. Reports have highlighted how girls from Kota and surrounding areas have increasingly taken to football and benefited from structured training opportunities.

Kota also has a State Girls Football Academy that has provided training opportunities to talented players from different parts of Rajasthan. The academy began in 2018 and has played a role in strengthening the state’s girls’ football pipeline.

Kota’s Growing Sporting Culture

Football is only one part of Kota’s broader sporting landscape. The city has facilities and sporting activities involving disciplines such as athletics, basketball, volleyball, hockey, badminton, tennis and other competitive sports. However, football has developed a particularly visible identity among young players, especially with the increasing participation of girls.

Against this backdrop, coaches working at the grassroots level are crucial. Their contribution often begins away from the spotlight—on local grounds, during early-morning practice sessions and through countless hours of training.

For Madhu Bishnoi, coaching is more than teaching passing, dribbling or finishing. It is about creating confidence, building discipline and showing young people that sport can become an important part of their lives.

Her decade-long journey in Kota represents the quiet contribution of a coach who continues to invest time and energy in the next generation. By training boys and girls and encouraging more girls to choose football, Madhu is helping create a sporting environment where talent can be identified, developed and given a chance to grow.

From Sri Ganganagar to Kota, Madhu Bishnoi’s journey is a story of passion, fitness and grassroots sports development one footballer at a time.
